The Chili Bowl begins February 10th, Friday night at 6:00. It is part of the Men’s Ministry at RBC, and is a great time for fathers and sons to connect, to have some good competition, and to look into God’s Word together. It is also a good time to reach out to fathers and sons outside of our church so they too can benefit from this time together. Let’s all pray that this will be a safe, encouraging, and memorable time for all involved!

Here is the schedule:

FRIDAY
– 6:00 – 6:30 – arrival and grilling begins by our expert chef
– 7:00 – eat and then dodgeball
– 8:30 – inspirational movies (“The Case for Christ” for the older ones and “The Defense of New Haven” for the younger ones)
– 10:00 – 10:30 – snacks, bed for younger and quiet time for all

SATURDAY
– 7:00 – rise and shine/personal devotions
– 7:30 – breakfast – egg casserole, biscuits and gravy, specials (Brian)
– 8:25 – 9:00 – Bible time together with David Bueche
– 9:15 – 11:45 – flag football outside
– 12:00 – LUNCH – Chili, Chili judging and then the announcement of the big winners
– 12:45 – clean up and depart

What to bring:
— For Friday night, bring your own beef, hot dogs, bratwurst, chicken, hamburgers, steaks, hot links, chicken poppers, tube steak, pork, emu, wild hog, ostrich, bison, or beefalo and our famous chef Brian Hetrick will cook it to your satisfaction. (unfortunately, this list was not original with me!)
— For Saturday lunch, bring your own special recipe of chili, with or without beans (You can make your chili at home or cook your chili while you are here. Please note: Any chili not made by a father or son will be disqualified from the chili cook-off competition, although we will still eat it.)
— For both Friday night and Saturday lunch, bring drinks, chips and snacks.
— The church will provide condiments, buns, and breakfast.
— And last, but certainly not least, bring your Bible for your own devotional time and for the Saturday morning Bible time.

Please give me a call or text if you have any questions. We look forward to a great time!

Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Keith
